Elevate Your Quality of Life

What is LENS Neurofeeback?

Since 1990, the Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) has been a transformative force in neurotherapy, helping more than a million people in over 30 countries. This EEG-based technology delivers ultra-low-amplitude electromagnetic energy to the scalp—about as faint as the signal from a wristwatch. Acting as a disruptive innovation, LENS targets dysfunctional brain patterns with the goal of prompting a “reboot” in the affected regions.

Life events such as chronic stress, physical trauma, or conditions like autism, ADHD, and depression can disrupt the brain’s optimal functioning. While the brain often adapts in the moment, it may fail to reset after the triggering event has passed, remaining in a prolonged state of suppression. This suppression is a built-in self-regulation strategy, but over time it can limit performance and well-being. LENS helps lift these compensations.

By gently interrupting maladaptive patterns and encouraging the brain to self-correct, LENS fosters neural plasticity—the brain’s ability to reorganize and form new connections. This process enhances flexibility, restores balance, and optimizes overall function for improved mental and cognitive performance.

NOTE: LENS is not a treatment that has promised or implied effectiveness for the diagnosis or treatment of any medical or psychological condition, and is in no way offered or represented as a treatment for any specific medical or psychological diagnosis without controlled studies approved by the FDA. It can only be asserted as biofeedback good for relaxation and self-regulation until other more specific FDA approvals have been obtained.

LENS as a Holistic Treatment

LENS Neurofeedback Therapy is most effective when employed as part of a holistic approach that integrates lifestyle changes. The impact of LENS is maximized when clients adopt healthy lifestyle choices alongside the changes occurring in the brain. Incorporating elements such as a nutritious diet, movement and mindfulness practices, bodywork and chiropractic can contribute significantly to optimizing overall health.

What to Expect from a Session

LENS Neurofeedback sessions are gentle, straightforward, and tailored to your needs. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Initial Consultation – We take time to understand you, your concerns, and your wellness goals.

2. LENS Mapping & Treatment Session –  After being seated in a comfortable chair in a relaxing environment, your LENS-certified practitioner applies tiny electrodes to the scalp to measure the brainwave activity and deliver treatment. This information is analyzed via the computer software and provides information on the client’s brainwave frequencies. Through a patented process, it then sends this information back to the client’s brain through the sensors, interrupting the maladaptive patterns.

3. â€‹Tracking Progress – We adjust your care plan as your brain responds over time.

The sessions are brief (usually 3-5 minutes, depending on the client’s physiology and sensitivity), gentle (usually you don't feel anything during the session), and the changes are lasting, with some exceptions (i.e. with symptoms of progressive conditions such as Parkinson’s, MS and neurodegenerative disorders, the sessions need to be ongoing to sustain the improvement). It is common for LENS recipients to report feeling more relaxed, grounded, or energized after a session.

Results can be seen in as little as 1-4 sessions, with the average number of sessions being 11-12. LENS is an exceptional option for all individuals from as young as six months. It is also highly effective in animals.

How Does LENS Work?

The LENS Neurofeedback Therapy System has been approved by the FDA. LENS is a proven non-invasive therapy for optimizing brain performance. The therapy relies on EEG-based technology to deliver low-amplitude electromagnetic energy to the scalp. Remarkably, the intensity of this energy is comparable to that of a watch, with radio frequency waves being 4,000 times weaker than those emitted by a cell phone.

LENS operates as a disruptive technology, effectively interrupting dysfunctional brain patterns and allowing the brain to recalibrate in specific areas. The brain responds positively to this low-energy signal, as stronger signals would trigger a defensive response. The therapy’s results can significantly enhance the client’s quality of life by reducing or eliminating previous symptoms. Sessions are brief, typically lasting 3-5 minutes, and are gentle, with most clients not feeling anything during the session. The effects of the therapy are enduring, although progressive conditions such as MS and Parkinson’s may require ongoing treatment to maintain progress.

In addition to the ones mentioned below, LENS can also prove effective in alleviating concerns such as headaches/migraines, chronic pain, stroke recovery, symptoms associated with autism and ADHD, fears/phobias, trauma, emotional disturbances, mood disorders, focus issues and brain fog, tantrums, anger, balance, tremors, lack of motivation, and degenerative brain disorders like Parkinson’s and dementia.

ADD & ADHD

LENS improves focus and attention by gently regulating brainwave patterns, reducing impulsivity and and hyperactivity.

Autism Spectrum

Calms brain patterns in individuals with autism, reducing sensory overload and enhancing focus, emotional balance, and self-regulation.

Emotional Balance

LENS stabilizes emotional regulation by calming overactive brain regions, gently fostering resilience, mental clarity, and inner calm.

Peak Performance

LENS enhances mental clarity and performance by fine-tuning brain function, ultimately unlocking potential for growth and creativity.

Addictions

LENS assists addiction and dependency recovery by calming the brain, reducing cravings, and supporting emotional regulation for lasting change.

Concussions & TBI

Supports brain recovery by promoting neural flexibility, easing inflammation-related symptoms, and restoring mental clarity and cognitive function.

Migraines

LENS reduces migraine frequency and intensity by addressing nervous system dysregulation and improving cerebral blood flow and efficiency.

Sleep Challenges

LENS promotes restful sleep by resetting disrupted brainwave patterns, easing insomnia and improving sleep quality.

Aging

LENS supports healthy aging by promoting brain flexibility, sustained mental clarity, and memory, helping maintain optimal cognitive function.

Depression

LENS lifts mood by optimizing brain activity, gently helping to break cycles of negative thought patterns and emotional stagnation.

Pain

LENS effectively assists with brain-generated pain (mis-mapping the origins and qualities of signals), as well as vascular pain relief.

Stress & Anxiety

LENS eases stress and anxiety responses by calming brain activity, helping you feel more balanced, grounded

and relaxed.

Additional Notes About

Conditions LENS Helps With

  • Cognition – Problems sequencing, memory, providing and maintaining attention, concentration, clarity, and organization.

  • Mood – Anger, sadness, explosiveness.

  • Motor – Lack of grace, problems of eye-hand coordination, balance, increased muscle tone (from spasticity) and tremor.

  • Motivation – Problems initiating tasks, shifting from one activity to another, and/or completing tasks.

  • Anxiety – Problems of anxiety system activity (too much uncomfortably-contained energy), persistent “anxiety”, restlessness, rumination, agitation, distractibility, difficulty breathing, palpitations, tremor exacerbation, and sleep interruption.

  • Reactivity – Hyper-reactivity, hypersensitivity, multiple chemical sensitivities.

  • Pain – Brain-generated pain (mis-mapping the origins and qualities of signals), and vascular pain.

  • Addictions/Dependencies – Lack of clarity about emotions and self-comforting, defensiveness, argumentativeness, and cynicism.

  • Fatigue – Fatigue; or fatigue as a phenomenon secondary to the effort of trying to overcome the pain and/or the above impediment to functioning more easily.

  • Performance Optimization – Increases in functioning in the above areas in absence of any diagnosis.

  • The LENS works well with symptoms of Central Nervous Symptom dysfunction. These include symptoms of ADD, ADHD, Seizures and sub-clinical seizure activity, severely disruptive behavior disorders such as Conduct Disorder, Reactive Attachment and Bipolar Disorder, Autistic spectrum and pervasive developmental delay, Cerebral palsy, concussive injuries, PTSD, Acquired Brain Injury, and Birth Trauma.

  • LENS works quite well with the symptoms of Traumatic Brain Injury, no matter how long ago the incident occurred. The trauma can be from a physical blow, a concussive injury, a psychological incident (PTSD), or any other incident(s) which results in a decrease in cognitive ability.

  • Many children have sleep problems that can be helped such as bed wetting, sleep walking, sleep talking, teeth grinding, nightmares, and night terrors.

  • LENS can also be helpful with many of the symptoms of adolescence including drug abuse, suicidal behavior, anxiety and depression.

  • LENS can also help in maintaining good brain function as people age.

What Makes LENS Different from Other

Forms of Neurofeedback?

Each client’s EEG signals (brain waves) are unique to them and constantly changing. The LENS measures these ever-changing signals of the client and matches the feedback to the client’s own physiological (neurological) fingerprint.
